 Brian Morlin Lindsay

13 October 1932 - 20 January 2008

January 2008 saw the sad loss of another highly influential member of the family. We are saddened to announce that Brian Morlin Lindsay, our Dad and Meg's Granddad, passed away on Sunday 20 January 2008 following a brave fight against illness which saw him hospitalised for nearly 9 weeks.

Briany Boy, as he became fondly known, was admitted to hospital on 15 November suffering with a serious lung infection and was critically ill for many days but rallied with intense medical intervention. Unfortunately, his condition worsened as the result of another stroke and he acquired aspiration pneumonia which he could not fight.

His period in hospital, although difficult, did give his children, David, Anne and Davina, the chance to spend lost time with him, and they were a constant source of support for him at the end.

His funeral service was held in The East Chapel at Cambridge Crematorium on Friday 1 February, and his ashes are to be scattered at the site of the birdbath memorial for his loving wife Aileen in the Memorial Woodland.

Please click on the photo to be taken to a page which covers the tributes to Brian at his funeral service, which includes a short film called A life of smiles which was shown during the service as a testament to Brian's love of life, family and friends.

The film can also be found by clicking here. The music is Where ever you will go sung by The Calling.
